Corrections Policy
How factual errors and outdated data are handled.
What deserves a correction
Material factual errors, stale provider or legal facts, incorrect calculations, broken source attribution, misleading role labels and substantial editorial omissions are correction candidates. Minor style edits do not require the same treatment.
How corrections are handled
The issue is reviewed against the best available source, the page is updated, and the material review date changes when the correction affects a consumer decision. Related programmatic pages or tools are checked when they depend on the same data or formula.
How to report a problem
Readers can use the contact channel to identify the URL, the statement they believe is wrong and any supporting source. Account-specific disputes with a lender or servicer should go to that responsible party as well.
Accountability in practice
This information is tied to the operating and editorial process described on the site. Named roles, commercial relationships, review methods and security statements should match the current production configuration rather than a generic trust template.
When this page changes
Update the page when the responsible team, workflow, methodology, commercial relationship or supporting evidence changes materially. Keep the effective date and the reason for important corrections visible where they affect consumers.
